So, if you didn't know, which, clearly you couldn't, I'm an intern over at Pleasure Principle for the summer. I'm a huge fan of Adrian and Diva's work, so being part of the label has been a huge pleasure (ha!) for me. Anyway, I just wanted to post a couple of pics from our FW09 lookbook (SS10 is already finished and there is a sick lookbook for it but it is very hush hush).

I know that everyone else has already blogged these, and that I've even commented on those posts, but I don't care. I love these and I'm putting them up too. I've never really paid much attention to Christopher Kane, to be completely honest. I mean, obviously I noticed the howling monkey dresses, no one could miss those. His resort 2010 collection is so perfect those, just like the closing shots of Dr. Strangelove, one of my favorite movies. It only took 45 or so years for it to make it into fashion from Kubrick, but I welcome it eagerly. I wish I could afford one of these, because they are guaranteed to be collectors pieces. Investment dressing to the extreme.

If you want, you can see the video of the ending to Dr. Strangelove on Youtube. I heard somewhere once that Ronald Reagan, upon entering office, asked to see the War Room - invented by/ featured prominently in Dr. Strangelove - which of course didn't/doesn't (?) exist.

Alexandra Groover's work is based largely on shells which she fashions out of different fabrics into dresses, hoods, tops, and capes.

I love the draping on the back of the coat on the right. Plus I'm a sucker for anything with cropped sleeves.

To the right is the 5-hood dress. Part of her work is about hoodies, at least... I think I read that somewhere.

Mmmm these sweaters are so perfect.

Unfortunately these are in black and white so the fantastically disco-ed effect is somewhat missing. At least, I think these pieces are mirrored, I really can't tell. The sweaterdress is nice, too.

I like the slash sweater. All of the pieces above are from Fall 2009.








The skirt part of this dress makes me weak in the knees.


Fall/Winter 2008

Jen's jewelry is what I like best though, which apparently she didn't design - it's Eddie Borgo for Jen Kao, but potayto potahto, I like it either way. Two different versions of the bracelets are for sale at Forward by Revolve. However, for $660, I can DIY my own, motherfuckers!
