speaking of which...

I'm obsessed with finding these tights worn by one of the girls from Litter SF in this picture.
They're sheer, unlike every other pair of skeleton tights I've ever seen, and I like that the bones are rendered in outline rather than solidly. Given my recent obsession with tights (thank you pantsless wardrobe), there just can't be any way I can carry on without these. They are transcendent.

I've had this site bookmarked for like what, a year? two? So I finally went back to take a look at it, and holy fuck Nova Dando makes cool shit. Here's an interview Dazed Digital did with her back in the day. She's a designer from North Wales, she DJs, she's probably cooler than me. All I really need to know.

This is her Fall 2008 Disco Collection. The lookbook for her Spring 2009 collection, Disco Part II, isn't up yet, but from the looks of Part I it's completely perfect. How much do I want a lace crop top?! A LOT.

I love these skirts that are essentially just loops of fabric hanging off a belt. I super duper love this oversize sheerish sweater/dress of indeterminate fabric. And I quadruple love the sculptural top on the right that looks like it's knit from bits of plastic. I have no idea what any of this is made from, but I'm hot for it.

Look #10 looks like a fisherman's net made of electrical tape. DIY to the maxxxxx.

What is the hood on the right made out of? and where can I buy it? Actually, Nova's stuff isn't easy to come by and the only place she seems to sell it is at Mandi Lennard's studio, whoever and wherever that might be.
Look #11 is so perfect I want to die and be buried in it.

Of course, I also love these structural dresses that look like the frightening hoopskirt support made for me by my grandmother to hold up my 3rd grade Halloween costume when I went dressed as Scarlett O'Hara in the curtains dress. Another year I wore this gem from the movie. What can I say, I've been a badass since day 1.

When Part II/SS09 is up I will most definitely be posting more pictures.

Of the myriad interpretations of Spring fashion...

I like Armand Basi's version best.

Black bras under sheer fabric and... open-weave fabrics (my knowledge of fashion terminology is severely lacking). I also love the square glasses and how they've been rotated to look like diamonds. The second look in particular could be the coolest hautest beach cover-up in human history. The look on the right could be the classy version you wear to dinner after a day on the beach in Montauk or wherever. I don't do beaches.

I'm also loving the bustiers with the sheer and the 80s ruffle skirt that protrudes from said bustier on the right. I'm not going to lie, I really wish that the bustier on the left was just a smidge higher up and a scotch more fitted, but that could be easily solved if we held blondie down and force-fed her donuts and heavy cream.

Sheer trousers are actually legit-ly awesome and I like this somewhat different interpretation from versions sent down runways by Acne and Dagmar. On another note, the outfit on the right here is so fucking flawless I'd eat my hat to own and rock it. The voluminous yet cropped trousers are balanced in their heaviness by the sheer/bustier top.

hint mag, part II

I think I may love the wallpapers more than the fashion. I feel oddly compelled to touch and taste it, although I am nearly certain it does not taste like snozzberries.

Ahhh, the Acne cage skirt that claimed the hearts of dozens of fashion devotees and blended them into a margarita by not going into mass production. It is pretty sweet.

The blurb that accompanies this editorial ("Happy House") quotes some Siouxsie Sioux lyrics and explains that they refer to an asylum. I'm definitely not getting the asylum vibe off of this as it's not nearly sterile, barren, and colorless enough to evoke institutionalization. Nonetheless, I like the textured, almost lush look of the spread as a whole, and in particular the black lipstick and green creme nail polish. Also the first outfit combines most of my favorite fashion elements: sheer tops, high-waisted, voluminous skirts, black, and the somewhat austere secretary/librarian look I tend to gravitate towards. Granted, my recent interests have all been drapey, unstructured garments, but I can't deny my roots.

anzevino and florence

Anzevino and Florence's sheer pieces make me want to weep.

Since I can't own them, especially after last night's online shopping debacle, I made a polyvore thing a week or two ago. Of course, the idea of me actually wearing high heels is laughable. I'd have put in a picture of the Repetto electric blue patent mary janes if I could have found one polyvore would accept. Or any picture, for that matter.

I read somewhere that Nicholas Kirkwood is supposed to be designing a line of flats after the models at Rodarte were unable to walk in the fucking insane heels he'd designed. I look forward to them eagerly, even if I won't be able to afford them.
